Transportation Factoring organizations have unique needs. One of the best ways to help with your strategic planning is to spend time discussing those issues with other Transportation Factors. The purpose of this meeting is to provide a forum with current industry topics for Transportation Factors. This is a unique opportunity to share ideas and learn from others. Along with roundtable group discussions, guest speakers will dive into topics ranging from upcoming changes in the transportation industry, critical transportation factoring issues, and future trends. There will also be an exhibit hall with vendors that provide services for Transportation Factors.

Moderators:

  • Tom Croteau - Founder & CEO, OperFi
    Tom Croteau has over 13 years of experience in Operations, Underwriting, and Management within the transportation factoring industry. He began his career in 2012 as VP of Operations at Single Point Capital, where he developed a strong expertise in factoring and transportation finance. An Air Force veteran, Tom founded OperFi in 2019 to provide working capital to small and medium-sized carriers and logistics companies, with a focus on supporting veterans and veteran-related causes. OperFi offers veteran discounts and donates a portion of its profits to veteran charities annually. Tom has been involved with the International Factoring Association (IFA) for the past 12 years, bringing valuable insights, particularly in Operations and Underwriting within the industry.
  • Bryan Alsobrooks - President, Phoenix Capital Group
    Bryan has over 30 years commercial finance experience and more than 20 years in the transportation industry.  He is active with the International Factoring Association and has served as past Chairman and Vice Chairman for the North American Credit Manager’s National Transportation Credit Group.  Bryan received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Austin Peay State University. Phoenix Capital Group is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Gulf Coast Bank & Trust Company and is a nationally recognized provider of working capital solutions to small- to medium-sized transportation companies.  Financing solutions include asset-based lending, accounts receivable financing and factoring, equipment financing and fuel card services.  They are headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, with additional offices in California, Texas, Alabama and Tennessee.
  • Trena Harustak - Vice President - Factoring - OpenRoad Financial Services, Inc.
    Trena began her career with OpenRoad Transportation Inc. in 2014, where she was initially hired to process carrier invoices and manage certificates of insurance. She was soon promoted to Office Manager, a role that expanded her responsibilities across multiple operational functions and deepened her understanding of the business. In pursuit of new challenges, Trena briefly stepped into a position with the Department of Revenue. However, when the owners of OpenRoad approached her with an opportunity to build and lead their newly formed factoring division, she eagerly returned to take on the challenge of developing the business from the ground up. Trena immersed herself in every aspect of the factoring industry—learning to sell their services, process invoices, fund carriers, and manage collections. As their business gained momentum, she focused on building a strong, collaborative team. What began with a single employee has grown into a thriving department of 26, and they continue to scale. Over the years, Trena was promoted to Vice President, a position that has allowed her to lead with purpose, foster a culture of excellence, and make a meaningful impact on both her team and the clients they serve daily. She takes pride in mentoring others and creating an environment grounded in hard work, trust, and mutual success.

  • David Jencks, Esq. - Attorney, Jencks Law, P.C.
    David Jencks is an attorney with more than 25 years of experience in transportation and transportation finance. He represents factors and transportation companies in both transactional matters and litigation. David is a member of the Transportation Lawyers Association and serves as co–general counsel to the International Factoring Association. For nearly two decades, he has been a featured keynote speaker at the IFA’s Annual Conference and its Transportation Factoring Meeting. He has also led numerous trainings and webinars on all facets of transportation factoring, including account management, credit, technology issues, fraud prevention, risk management, problem-load resolution, billing practices, and legal compliance.

Accommodations:

  • A special rate at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas of $274/night has been negotiated for this event. (plus $45/night resort fee)
  • Rooming information and booking link will be emailed to registered attendees.
  • Limited availability. Room block expires on August 14, 2026.

Fee:  The fee for this meeting is: $1,295 (IFA Members Only). Meeting attendees must have a minimum of 2 years Factoring experience.
 
The Transportation Meeting is limited to 4 attendees per Factoring company. If you would like to register more than 4 attendees, please email info@factoring.org for additional attendees to be placed on the wait list. Additional attendees can register after July 1st depending on space availability in the meeting.

We recommend registering early, as this meeting is limited in attendance and has sold out in the past. Attendance for Non-Factoring Companies and Ally Members is limited to exhibitors and sponsors.

The meeting will run from 7:30am - 4:00pm on Tuesday and 7:30am - 12pm on Wednesday. There is a Welcome Reception on Monday evening from 5:00pm - 6:30pm and a Cocktail Reception on Tuesday evening from 5:00pm - 6:30pm. The registration fee includes tuition, course materials, breakfasts, coffee breaks, Tuesday lunch, Welcome Reception, Tuesday Reception and entrance to exhibit hall.
