CHUCK WEST – Founder and Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Chuck serves as COO of Grand Mill Funding Corp and is one of the founding Principals. With his diverse background and education, Chuck is a balanced asset of both business entrepreneurship and commercial Finance. Chuck and founding Principals recognized a need for companies to have access to better working capital tools that conventional banks lacked. The result was the creation of Grand Mill Funding Corp and their host of cash flow enhancing services. With his drive to build business success and cultivate relationships, Chuck is a trusted and recognized leader of company growth strategies.
Prior to Grand Mill Funding Corp, Chuck was Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager of Fifth Third Bank, a position he held for over five years. He developed and maintained commercial client relationships of business owners with credit and working capital needs of $100,000 to $15 million. Chuck created and implemented cash flow focused initiatives within the team of Retail Bankers who served the commercial banking segment. He joined Fifth Third Bank in 2011.
Chuck began his banking career in 1988 as a Commercial Lender for National City Bank in Cleveland, Ohio. He later moved to Phoenix, AZ where he launched 3 separate successful businesses all of which were eventually sold for multiples of GAR. While working in Phoenix, Chuck secured 3 U.S. Patents and successfully negotiated exclusive labeling rights to companies in 2 industries. He then moved back to Monroe, Michigan to be with family in 2003.
Chuck holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Marketing from Hillsdale College. While there, he was part of the 1985 National Champion Football Team and was inducted, along with his entire team, into the Hillsdale College Hall of Fame. He received his Master of Business Administration degree from Baldwin-Wallace University in Berea, Ohio.
Chuck serves on the Executive Board of Directors for the Monroe County Business Development Corporation. He also served on the Board of Directors for Living Independence for Everyone (Senior Meals on Wheels) in Monroe County joining the foundation in 2012 and the Board for the Metropolitan Growth and Development Corporation from 2013 to 2015.
